ビリーのホームページに、ロングアイランドの高校で多分講堂なのかな？音楽とか美術とかに使うのか学校自体が芸術系なのか定かではないけれど、そこの建物にビリーの母ロザリンドの名前をつけたというニュースがあった。どんなに貧しくともビリーの才能を信じ、ピアノのレッスンだけは続けさせた音楽をこよなく愛した、（彼女自身ボーカリスト）彼女をたたえているのだろうか。ロザリンドの写真の傍らで笑顔のビリーがなんとも言えなく嬉しそう。

母ロザリンドは明るく、美しく、強い人だったようだ。亡くなった姉妹の子供を養女に迎え（のちにビリーに鮮烈な音楽の影響を与えた２歳年上のジュディ）父が家を出て行った後も二人の子供を立派に育て、ロングアイランドに住み続け、再婚することもなく生涯を終えた。

ビリーはそんな彼女にRosalinda's eyesという素敵な歌をプレゼントしている。母が叶えられなかった夢を歌で叶えてくれたのだ。これは母としては最高に嬉しかったんじゃないかと思う。

If you check Billy Joel official page, you can see the news about the high school in Long Island rebuild their music hall or gym? (I am sorry I am not native speaker and do not know detail about the high School.) I wonder the school teaches music or art?  They named Billy's mother's because she loved music a lot.  She pushed Billy to learn piano lesson even if her family situation was hard and had some difficulties.  She always believed Billy's ability and talent for music.  The school may praise her. Billy looks awfully happy beside her monument.

Billy told she was cheerful, beautiful and strong woman.  She decided to adapt and raise up Judith(Judy) who used to be late sisters daughter.  (Billy is influenced by her a lot about music.)

After leaving Billy's father their house, she had raised them up and lived in Long Island never had remarried until she passed away.  

Billy wrote 'Rosalinda's eye' for her present.  Her dream had not come true.  He helped to her dream come true among the song.  As a mother, Rosalindo might be the happiest to listen such a great song.

This Latin style song is included  in the jazz style album 52nd street.  This song will make you happy and offer you a wonderful feeling.  

For us,  each mother is the only one and irreplaceable.  We would like to love them forever and ever.
